# Managing organizational units and access

Alpha functionality

This functionality is still being developed and is expected to change over time. Right now we only enable it for a limited number of customers. If you're interested, reach out to your Customer Success Manager for more details and eligibility requirements.

Organizational units are a way to structure teams and manage access to assets within a company’s account. The top level unit is your company, and its legal and business setup applies to the entire account. Under the company are organizational units. You can use these to create entirely separate workflows and teams for different brands and clients.

With organizational units, marketing teams when using the Smartly platform can operate independently without exposing sensitive data and collaborate without duplicating work. With organizational units, you can scale teams, clients, and business lines without access risk.

In **Organizational management**, you can create and manage organizational units, and assign users and assets.
